CEPR on loonud uue majanduspoliitika portaali VoxEU.org. Lehel ja CEPRi pressiteates on kirjas, et Voxi eesmärgiks on arendada uuringutel põhinevat majanduspoliitilist analüüsi ja et portaal on suunatud majandusinimestele nii valitsusametites, rahvusvahelistes organisatsioonides, ülikoolides kui ka erasektoris ning ka majandusajakirjanikele. Omalt poolt lisame, et Voxis osalevate teadlaste nimekiri on tõesti muljetavaldav ja seda lehte võiks soovitada regulaarselt lugeda ka majandusteaduskonna üliõpilastel.

Muuseas, portaal ootab teadustööl põhinevaid majanduspoliitilise rakendusega kaastöid, mis kirjelduse kohaselt peaks olema kirjutatud kõrgemal analüütilisel tasemel kui ajaleheartikkel aga palju lihtsamalt kui teadusartikkel.

Portaali tutvustuseks tsiteerime LSE professori ja CEPRi presidendi Richard Portesi ühte vana kolumni, sellisel majanduspoliitilisel teemal, mis meile kõige lähemal, nimelt konkurents Euroopa kõrghariduses.

Europe has no economics departments in the international top 10, perhaps even top 15, but it does have two business schools (London Business School and Insead) that compete with the best in the US. The reason is simple: the business schools are essentially in the private sector and independent of the state systems. They do not have the wealth of their American counterparts, but they do pay market-determined salaries, and they know they must compete in order to survive.
